Live your dream
I’ve posted about Jean-Luc Ponty before. I am sure you’ll agree that his record covers are absolutely sensational:

The husbang has always been unnaturally attached to the music of Jean-Luc Ponty. There aren’t that many people around with a taste for progressive jazz, are there? Let alone shiny clothes and sparkly violins. I know of two. One of them is Mr Ponty. And this is the husbang:

No doubt you are thrilled to hear that this is the first in a series of my loved one’s interpretations of his favourite record covers. This one is dedicated to the hopeful soul who put a classified ad in The Canberra Times wanting to sell an as-new metallic purple semi acoustic violin. For six hundred bucks. Yeah, of course he can actually play it.
But not like Jean-Luc.
Not yet.

The attention to detail is outstanding!
He certainly has “A Taste For Passion”.

Don’t ask me why but I laughed and laughed at this post. Classic.

Cotard, I think he would have grown hair for greater authenticity had that been within his powers.
And Saint, so did I. It’s funny to do stupid stuff.

That is extremely funny, Zoe.
Also highly disturbing, but not for the reason you might think.
Has it occurred to you, Zoe, that, sans violin, and with more hair and less beard, your husbang is the spit of one Harry Simpson?*#
*This is not a bad thing, I hasten to add, lest you consider me gratuitously offensive. More than usual, anyhoo.

“your husbang is the spit of one Harry Simpson”
Yes, when Zoe wears this one out I have to move to Canberra apparently. I am currently contesting the legality of it in the County Court.
Hey, which makes the more disturbing cat-strangling metallic scratching sound:
1) him playing the violin whilst drunk?
2) The sound those pants make when he takes them off?

She’s…
back in the saddle again!
He looks amazing. And yes, I am a witness to the fact that the man can play the darn thing.
Now you need to do some Millie Jackson covers, Zoe!

Are those… leather pants?
October 15th, 2005 at 1:15 pm
No moo cows were harmed during the construction of those pants, Kate. A few innocent PVCs may have suffered greatly, but who cares?
Fyodor, I find it a little odd that you apologise to me in case a comparison between the husbang and harry is gratuitiously offensive. Who will think of the harry?
And speaking of, if he wants me to stop stalking him, he should stop sending me presents wrapped in the Chinese manner. The interweb is no place for the preciousness, I say.

That original album cover looks to me as if it’s Bill Oddie. You sure it isn’t a Goodies skit?
And I sincerely hope your beloved isn’t a Sticky Fingers fan.

Pleather! Even better.

He may not be able to play like Jean-Luc yet, but I bet that JL can’t build a chook house. Or more importantly make a Sage.

Does the husbang do request covers? I’m thinking a whole webiste dedicated to his lack of dignity ala whatisface does Emotions, is in order, eh?
October 19th, 2005 at 7:36 am
Yeah, if he’s taking requests, here’s a few suggestions -

You’ll notice none of them require a violin.

Bald.
Beard.
Sense of humour.
If you left that man in a mall in Melbourne, he would be snatched away in a trice.

[...] Owy has sent me a text to say that he has taken out the work Christmas party “red faces” competition with a violin recital. You remember the violin, right? [...]

One small girl is very jealous of both violin (Cause I won’t let her get a coloured one) and ability (cause she has only been playing for a year).
Fantastic photo though
