Welcome, come in, can I get you something cocoanutty to drink?
Welcome to my shiny new wordpress blog!

A big thank you to Comrade Liam of stoush.net for setting me up and egging me on. Another big thank you to Ampersand Duck for designing the main banner and busting my work computer so thoroughly in the process that the IT guy had to carry it away in a smokin’ mess. Thanks, darl, the new (and better) computer arrives Monday morning at the latest.
Full image credits are in the “about” section, and while I’m at it I’d also like to thank Jim, a new friend from the last thread, who inspired both the default gravatar and the special “Mark of Teh Troll” gravatar.
The skirting boards aren’t painted yet and the bathroom’s a disgrace, but most things should work – please let me know if things go wobbly for you. There’s a new RSS feed and I’d be grateful if y’all updated your links. The site looks better in Firefox, but you already knew that.

Nice new digs. But with the current state of real estate in Canberra, I think I’ll rent (freeload, actually) at Blogspot just a bit longer…
September 1st, 2006 at 4:37 am
Ahh. Noice round here. I’ll just put my feet up on this fluffy pink pouffe and pat the cat for a while.
September 1st, 2006 at 4:40 am
And you’re getting a flash new computer so stop winging, ya mole.
Not my fault the old weezer had a heart attack at the thought of transplanting a nice broad with her legs over her head into a cloud space. Could have happened to anyone.
September 1st, 2006 at 4:40 am
*sigh*
whinging.
As you were.
September 1st, 2006 at 4:42 am
Very noice indeed.
September 1st, 2006 at 4:43 am
Everyone’s doing it aren’t they? We have considered migrating, but have been too lazy to do anything about it yet…
Thanks for the inspiration. I like the new site.

Me jealous : (
September 1st, 2006 at 4:48 am
Noice, noice, noice. The anonymous gravatar is a specially noice touch. I think this calls for a plunge into the special housewarming present box….
September 1st, 2006 at 4:50 am
‘Scuse me while I rummage…
September 1st, 2006 at 4:56 am
Noice as.
Shall I pass around this platter of stuffed artichokes? They went down a treat at Galaxy’s birthday do.
Will the Duggars be dropping by?
September 1st, 2006 at 4:58 am
Oh, I hope so, Thirdcat.
Ducky just sent me an email saying “you can tell who uses a feed reader”. That or it’s Friday afternoon …
September 1st, 2006 at 5:02 am
Loverly!
September 1st, 2006 at 5:05 am
Actually the bathroom is looking okay. You obviously have higher standards than I.
September 1st, 2006 at 5:29 am
I feel betrayed.
Blogger all the way!
September 1st, 2006 at 5:33 am
Check out those lairy knickers! *insert wolf whistle here* The site looks lovely.
I do recommend ThirdCat’s stuffed artichokes to get a party started.
I’ve brought some mini passionfruit pavlovas to pass around.
September 1st, 2006 at 5:54 am
Up and out of the blogspot ghetto! Well done Zoe!
[mutters to self: there goes the neighbourhood]
September 1st, 2006 at 6:05 am
That or it’s Friday afternoon …
both?
We washed our bathrooms last night for several hours in honour of someone from the bank coming around this morning, but yours is still looking a damn sight better.
And Liam, someone has to keep on KEEPIN IT REAL in DA GHETTO thank you very much.
September 1st, 2006 at 6:19 am
Word, L-to-tha-aura. I came from blogspot once upon a time too—I know my roots. Don’t be fooled by the domain that I got…
September 1st, 2006 at 7:02 am
We likes it, we likes it a lot.
Homemade gravlax with sourcream on pumpernickel, anyone?
September 1st, 2006 at 8:17 am
N-oice!
Back soon for more crazyness.
PS you guys, Cristy & Paul and the Gnac family- blogger playgroup.
Make mine a Caprohinia….
September 1st, 2006 at 10:40 am
Yep, looking fresh there Zoe. I especially love the look of the hijab of anonymity. Where can I get me one of those?
September 1st, 2006 at 12:02 pm
Very nice, Zoe!
And a welcome farewell to the dumbass blogger comments boxes!
September 1st, 2006 at 12:09 pm
Under no circumstances should one drink too many Lychee martinis. I found this out to my cost on Wednesday night.
September 1st, 2006 at 1:16 pm
Very noice, Zoe. Oi’m jealous of your plugins, luvv – I gotta get me some gravatars.
(You might need to set your clock for GMT+10 on your options page)
September 1st, 2006 at 1:43 pm
Though, with the plugins, isn’t “jump straight to comments” assuming that the actual post doesn’t matter?
Just nitpickin…
September 1st, 2006 at 1:44 pm
More nitpickin…
Unless the ACT has adopted a very radical form of daylight saving, or the timestamp is designed for vampires, my computer clock says it’s 11.44 pm but my last comment said 1.43 pm.
Shouldn’t be too hard in WP to select the timezone…
September 1st, 2006 at 2:54 pm
Zoe,
Love what you’ve done with the theme-age! It looks awesome, and you’ve definitely “pimped it out” with some killer plugins…In fact, I need to put that Live Comment Preview plugin on my test installation, no?
Speaking of plugins, I saw that you used my rickety Flickr tutorial (nicely, I might add)…In case you didn’t already know of its existence, I wanted to point you in the direction of the fresh, the fabulous FlickrRSS plugin by Dave Kellam. Whenever I Flickr out a WordPress site, I always use the plugin instead of duct tape, rusty nails, and a bent hammer (which is what all that Flickr JavaScript amounts to).
All the l33t k1d5 are doing it, so I figure you should, too. R4wk 0n!
September 1st, 2006 at 3:11 pm
Nice digs…
September 1st, 2006 at 4:02 pm
Pina Coladas, passionfruit pavlovas and you can work a computer. I’m not at all jealous. I fully intend to get gmail working this weekend, so there!
*wanders off muttering spells*
September 1st, 2006 at 8:30 pm
yay! welcome to wordpress.
Lovely new pad!
Bloglines updated : )
September 1st, 2006 at 10:08 pm
Lovely! Is it too early to make something fruity with Malibu?
Evidently not.
September 1st, 2006 at 10:26 pm
Snotty toddler anyone? Anyone?
Wow Zoe, this whole nesting thing is going to new heights.
September 1st, 2006 at 11:44 pm
Yeah! Noice! And I’m still failing with gravatar.com (get right to the end of the process and it hangs on me.) Waaah. Oi don’t loike this burqa.
September 1st, 2006 at 11:51 pm
Wow, nice big comment type. I’ve been looking in all the wrong places, finally hit the ‘refresh’ button.
Very noice. Legs akimbo? Scarybrave.
September 2nd, 2006 at 1:32 pm
Thanks, guys. It’s been a lot of fun playing to get things how I wanted. And I have learnt a LOT, with more fixing things until they break to come.
Tigtog, you know I had the bloody time set on “+10″ from the get-go, and couldn’t work out the problem. It seems that just putting “10″ in works.
And I’m chuffed that Chris, who designed the PressRow theme, came by and said nice things. I’m having a look at that flickr plugin – the only thing that I don’t like about it is that it only uses your last 20 photos, unlike the duct tape version.
September 2nd, 2006 at 1:58 pm
I tried the plugin, but it’s better suited to someone who was really into their groups, or a particular tag, rather than your very basic flickr user like me.
It’s very easy to use, but not random and drawing from all your photos.
September 2nd, 2006 at 7:29 pm
Oooh.
Has me old blogspot duds looking very last last season.
Yeah like the big comment type too
September 2nd, 2006 at 8:22 pm
WordPress elitist.
September 2nd, 2006 at 9:30 pm
heh. That burqa really works well, doesn’t it?
September 2nd, 2006 at 10:20 pm
I only take it off for a durry.
September 2nd, 2006 at 11:13 pm
BEAUTIFUL!
*struggling against urge to jump on a trampoline in skirt and frilly knickers*
September 3rd, 2006 at 2:07 pm
dearie dearie, what with spring here now, best make mine a shandy. so refreshing…
loving the hijab. makes me want to go anonymous just so’s I can wear it!
September 3rd, 2006 at 3:40 pm
Oooh-er, it’s lovely.
I don’t like coconut, though? Do you have something with mangoes?
September 3rd, 2006 at 4:51 pm
Hey ZOE
Congrats etc on the big move. Just goes to show how often i (don’t) drop around these days. Punch and a punch for the first or second or even third day of spring,
September 3rd, 2006 at 4:52 pm
pInch & a punch of course…
September 3rd, 2006 at 5:34 pm
I don’t mind the creamy spirits, and I’m always happy to push Baileys on impressionable youngsters. It’s an easy entry into the hard stuff—next thing you know they’ll be having sippin’ whisky in the saloon bar, or drinking premium lagers with their corporate mates, or worst of all, sipping, swooshing, spitting, and comparing tasting notes. Truly, the trajectory of alcohol use is only ever one of acceleration towards the dirt.
Yes, I think these here new digs of yours Zoe might become very habitable by us connoiseurs of plonk.
But coconutty? That there’s a seriously acquired taste.
September 3rd, 2006 at 10:19 pm
What’s a plug-in?
September 3rd, 2006 at 10:20 pm
Suddenly I’m back at top of the page, wishing I hadn’ t asked that.
September 4th, 2006 at 9:41 am
Link, it doesn’t sound as rude as you might think … wordpress gives you the basic guts of how the whole thing works, and plugins add extra functions. The recent comments, photos, comment preview, gravatars, etc are plugins.
September 5th, 2006 at 3:42 am
Nice pad.
Ooh, big type too!
And the hibanoymous and troll gravatars hack is another example of Australian innovation leading the world.
Good housewarming party too. Although at this stage of the night it’s hard to tell the original coconutty drinks from the recycled versions.
Something’s missing though. Not enough animals.
Gosh, I just happen to have a haiku zoo in my pocket as a housewarming present. Fancy that!
PENGUINS

September 5th, 2006 at 9:44 am
Thank you so much for that beautiful pome, Nabakov, and indeed I am up for lunch. I shall invesigate purveyors of spined furry things.
September 5th, 2006 at 9:54 am
Love the spring cleaned look
September 5th, 2006 at 1:34 pm
Very pretty!
September 5th, 2006 at 3:12 pm
Four days since a post. You’ve got this lah dee dah new place, are you gonna use it? It’s like the tennis racquet, the sea monkeys, the cello and the karate lessons — it’ll just end up at the back of the wardrobe, forgotten about in days. Young people these days.
September 5th, 2006 at 3:45 pm
A fair point. Can’t promise quality, though ; )
September 6th, 2006 at 6:14 pm
“A fair point. Can’t promise quality, though ; )”
And what do we get?
Bitty*
Says it all, really.
*This isn’t a complaint, BTW – it’s definitely an improvement on your line in juvenile cock.
September 6th, 2006 at 7:12 pm
That’s not bitty, that’s Art.
September 6th, 2006 at 8:25 pm
Nah, it itty bitty titilactation.
