Prime Minister announces future of national census in peril due to unreliable data

“It’s not plausible, it’s not based on anything other than a house-to-house survey,” Mr Howard said.
From the front page of today’s Canberra Times, “Iraq toll study ‘exaggerated’ ” which (really unbelievably this time) is not online.

Yep, you jess can’t trust those Eyeraqis. They’ll lie in your face and shoot you in the back. That’s when they ain’t busy gettin’ ‘emselves shot.
Did you catch the four star general on the TV last night, who said only 50,000 Iraqis had been killed and when asked where he got that figure from said, ‘I don’t know, I really can’t remember.’ About five times?

And of course the other door-to-door survey of note from the ABS is the labour force survey, which produced the unemployment figures we all celebrated yesterday (at the same time the PM made this stupid remark).

And Bernice Balcony had the same reaction I did, yesterday on a post by Pavlov’s Cat.

& I guess it is way too obvious to remember the alacrity with which he and Lord Poppycock fell upon the WMD ‘intelligence’. Forty-five minutes, anyone?

But now we have the worst-ever drought (statistically verified in the last 45 minutes) to distract our attention while a relatively small, hardly worth worrying about really, OK let’s not talk about it, number of Iraqi terrorists and insurgents and general ne’er-do-wells who all went to public schools, shoot each other.
Think of the poor farmers and the sanctity of the Coalition, not necessarily in that order (remember who’s the senior partner) instead.

But what amazes me is that Howard can continually say the daftest things & not get torn to shreds by the mainstream media. & have the advisors from governmental departments become so co-opted that they’re prepared to look just as foolish? Ministers, PMs are advised – aren’t they – so whose doing the advising? Or is this where all the AWB staff are moving to?

I think you’re all forgetting that a dead Eyeraqi is one less terrorist that the world has to deal with. Remember? Because those Islamists threaten our way of life and Saddam killed people too you know! Besides, we all know these figures are just made up by a bunch of Leftist radicals sitting in a room drinking endless lattes. They probably all voted for Nader. Also, the door to door interviewees probably all lied because that’s what terrorists DO.

Am getting a giggle from yer Blog, and here’s something that might be right up yer alley. If ever there was any question about how much of a US Govt stooge John Howard is, then have a look at the Aus Fed Govt’s website http://www.gov.au/sites/fed.html
Now, have a look at the southern cross in the top left hand corner, and if that aint a US flag silhouetted in there, then I’ll bite my big, fluffy Donkey arse! When’s this gonna stop?

I don’t know, looks more like the sea by which we’re girt than the Stripes, donkey.

It is consistent with our glorious leaders anti science and sound reasoning agenda to rubbish anything that he doesn’t happen to agree with. All he does is to pick the group making the “unreasonable” claims and tar them with the collective brush of unaustralianess. His other failsafe strategy is to keep repeating his alternative spin until we are all sick of it and start to believe it ourselves.
