The real thing
I wanted to borrow some books from the uni library this morning, so I found them, failed to operate the self check out machine (not a mirror) and went to the counter.
There I suffered what I think was a Spiritual Attack!, as recently described by Ampersand Duck, because it appears I do not exist.
The (very nice) librarian looked at my card and said “that’s strange, because obviously you DO exist”. But he was looking at my CARD! Not me! I found this very surprising. Not only had the card already demonstrated its unreliable nature, but at a shade under six feet tall and six months pregnant it is fairly goddam obvious to most people standing in front of me that I am in fact existent, at least in a corporeal sense.
He still gave me the books, though.
