Six months old

Not much going on here. Little tiny man is six months old on Thursday, and only two weeks until his cast comes off. Hoo-fucking-ray.

Six months old

Sage is still struggling a little with having an attention grabbing sibling, but I have distracted him momentarily by making my Mum knit them matching veggie hats from Suse’s pattern at Pea Soup. I didn’t want to sound ungrateful but really, Mum, what vegetable is grey? Apart from a mouldy eggplant?

I have been wasting time on Facebook, even thought I don’t really get it. It’s alarmingly cold, and O and I keep on saying “Vy is the top down, it’s focking freezing!” to each other, a habit adopted from a very dear friend who used to watch Schindler’s List so she could perve at Ralph Fiennes. I tried to tell her it was Wrong, but that did not stop her for she is a Bad Womans.

  • He’s very sweet. And quite grown up already.

  • As the father I overheard at the health centre said: I never thought I’d feed my kids Clag, I was even more surprised that they didn’t seem to mind.

Happy six months! And if I’m not too late, welcome to the world of rice cereal! (The little tacker here also has one of the toys on your floor, we call it the pissed bug)

  • *cluck!*

  • He LOVES his clag. It’s hard to feed him enough because the cast constricts his tummy, and his little eyes kept following our food, so I started him a couple of weeks ago.

  • Squash.

  • He is lovely. Glad to hear the cast is coming off soon. I really don’t know how babies eat that stuff, but they seem to like it. Gemma is now pointing to donuts in the supermarket and saying ‘that’. Little sod.

  • Cuteness! A Queensland ‘blue’ pumpkin is grey on the outside. Pumpkin!

  • Oy..

    that baby is positively edible.

  • Happy 6th birthday (it was our little monster’s two weeks ago) and hooray for the casts coming off!

  • Beyond cuteness.
    *melts*

  • Too cold for a visit to Cockington Green?

  • He wouldn’t have such a trusting open look if he knew his mum used bad words online.

Speaking of Bad Womans, and bouncing off some of the more intelligent issues raised on LP’s bum rap thread, I can sorta understand (and wish I didn’t) why some might find Rafe attractive in Schindler’s List. One of the most magnetic yet genuinely queasy-making screen villains in a long time.

And not ashamed to flaunt how his love handles met in the middle. That bit of characterisation I can really get into.

  • That child is gorgeous. Even with a grey vegetable on his head.

(Thanks for the link. Keep a look out on my blog, I did an acorn hat the other day and I’m ever so proud).

  • That baby is EDIBLE. Edible I tell you – those big brown bovine-like eyes just swallow you whole.

Good luck saying sayonara to those casts as well.

As opposed to the picture in your subsequent post, which is positively repulsive.

  • Glad the cast is coming off. I still want to know how it works! Is there a few months worth of poo in there, or do they saw a wee hole for it to come out of? Do I have the completely wrong idea of how such a cast should work? Should I shut up now? Probably.

Gad, but you have pretty boys. That didn’t sound quite right, either. should definitely shut up now.

    *shutting up*

  • All is revealed in the flickr notes. The photo is from 2 1/2 months ago, so he’s much bigger now (and new cast is blue).

It gets harder as the baby gets bigger and you can’t reach in to clean, and of course you can’t leave moisture under the cast or his skin could get damaged. 11 more sleeps!

  • ah, he’s just adorable.

  • You do make gorgeous babies.

  • Also, any vegetable which has been in the fridge for four weeks or longer is grey – and I know I’m not the only person who knows this.

  • “any vegetable which has been in the fridge for four weeks or longer is grey”

    # But then you get to play everybody’s favourite game: What Vegetable Was That?!!11

Closely followed by everyone’s second favourite game: Put Said Vegetable on Children’s Heads!!11
