You couldn’t decide what to do while the baby slept and the power was off, so you lay down in the late winter sun with a glass of red wine and a big fat book about Chinese food.
At nine past two, a full two hours earlier than expected, electronic devices all over the house chirrup their alertness.

How do they always know when you don’t need anything electrical and get the power back on early, and always know when you desperately need the power and get it back on 2hrs late? How?

Bugger. So presumably you leapt up and immediately started surfing the net? I know I would. Apparently, I need to spend more time ‘in the moment’.
